Delft Institute for Earth-Oriented Space Research

DEOS

DEOS is known as the Delft institute for Earth-Oriented Space Research as well as the Department of Earth Observation and Space Systems. Due to reorganizations within the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering the latter has been discontinued as of 1 January 2011. Though the formal ties have been cut the different groups, now spread over different faculties still work together on topics related to Earth-Oriented Space research. DEOS continues to combine space engineering, earth science and geo-information technology in a unique way to serve society, and with that constitutes the centre for earth observation systems and geomathematics in the Netherlands.

The research potential and expertise of four internationally renowned groups have been synergistically bundled:

Mathematical Geodesy and Positioning MGP

Physical and Space Geodesy PSG

Optical and Laser Remote Sensing OLRS

and

Astrodynamics and Space missions AS (DEOS point of contact).
